We planted a garden from seed with the following: beefsteak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, crook-neck squash, jalepeno peppers, bell peppers, lettuce, thyme, and catnip. It's been exciting to watch it develop from seed. We have our first bloom on a tomato plant. I cannot wait to savor the taste of a home-grown tomato again. It's been a long time.

  1. My tomato plant looks like it's dying on the bottom, but looks very happy and green on the top. I think it might be confused. Or I might be a bad tomato farmer.

  2. It's possible that the sun is too hot and that the older leaves (i.e. the ones at the bottom) are getting burned. The ones at the top are too new to be burned. Ours are experiencing something similar. We have plans to cover that part of the garden with screen (like you'd use in a window).
